Assignment 6

I really enjoyed reading the book Chasing the Wind. It was an adventurous book about the Nazis and missing treasures. I love adventures and this was the book! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves war, history or even adventure. It will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Assignment 5

  1. An old rusty steam ship sinks after it is damaged by a magnetic mine bomb.
  2. Peter, Elise, and Henrik read a newspaper article about missing Nazi treasure.
  3. They went to Kronborg Castle and saw a strange German boat in the harbor near where the steam ship sank.
  4. The three friends decide to build a sailboat out of grandfather's old row boat. When they test the boat they overhear the Germans on the strange boat talking about the treasure.
  5. When they see the German boat in port they decide to board to see if they can find any of the treasure.
  6. When Captain Bering and his crew returned the kids hid in a lifeboat and the ship departs.
  7. They observed the ship transferring its cargo into a German U-boat because the ship was sinking.
  8. The kids escape, jump into the sea and are saved by a U-boat crew member.
  9. Otto befriends them, takes them on a tour, and gives them kitchen duty.
  10. Peter sees Dr. Wolffhardt with some treasure. He then finds out they are going to South America not Holland.
  11. The U-boat has to dive in order to not be seen or bombed by the American enemy aircraft.
  12. Peter warns the American ship that they are about to be torpedoed by the U-boat.
  13. In return the Americans tried to bomb the U-boat forcing them to dive lower. The Germans tricked the Americans with debris to make them go away.
  14. The U-boat gets hit, starts to sink, Peter shoots a flare Otto gave him and they are rescued by the USS Guadalcanal.
  15. Peter, Elise and Henrik are taken to America and send a message to their parents that are alive and safe.
